South Lake Tahoe, mile 1090
17 miles into south Lake Tahoe
There was terrible wind in the night starting at around 2 am. Ended up getting up at 4:30 because there was just no point trying to sleep anymore, the wind was just too dang loud.
Easy walking all morning, we made 11 miles by 10.
Made it to town with two dinners, one serving of chia seed pudding, 4 tea bags and a few wheat thins crumbs were left. Super light pack and very ready for some town food.
Pat and his wife were doing trail magic at the Echo Lake trail head. They gave us Snickers, gatorade and watermelon. Awesome people!
Emily's brother and girlfriend live in Tahoe and they picked us up at the trail. We are staying with them for two days. Getting back into a car was crazy, they go so fast! Tahoe is full of summer tourist traffic,crowds and lines. But there is also fantastic pizza and gallons of ice cream!!
