Saw another coyote! Broad daylight, walked across the trail not 20 feet away during a snack and feet drying break.
The rhythm of the day was all off today. We started too late and had to stop to figure out how to ford a large stream. Then stop for another and another. It was a nice gradual decent all day until the end where there was a 3000 foot climb and 1000 foot decent. Rough. Felt the altitude, soreness and tiredness. Been on trail two weeks straight now!
Tried the dehydrated hummus for the first time. It's good with an olive oil packet and crushed up cheese its. Salty and delicious.
I need to start thinking about switching to new shoes mine are going to be destroyed here pretty soon.
Awesome tarp set up tonight, I love how it fit into this alcove of trees. Lots of head room and protected from the wind on 3 sides, maybe I'm starting to get this art of the tarp thing.

Met a guy named Sprout who was sprouting mung bean seeds in a plastic container. Sprout has done 5 seasons in McMurdo and he knows some of the same Antarcticans I do! What a small world!
