The pages at the top will contain the sections I have completed between February and June. There are also pages for my gear list, food and a map. The Map contains everywhere I have camped or started or ended a section. Clicking on the pins will tell you what camp number or section number they are.
When I start in June I will be posting in this section when I am in town and have access to the internet.
Sections I have done so far: Campo to Mt Laguna, Walker Pass to Tehachapi, Mt Laguna to Paradise Valley Cafe, Agua Dulce to Tehachapi, Onyx Summit to Agua Dulce
Here is a glossary of PCT hiker vocabulary you might need to know:
Trail Name - A name given to a hiker that is easier to remember and differentiates you from other hikers. For example there are lots of Johns, but all of those Johns would have a unique trail name that probably has a funny story behind it.
SOBO - South Bound
NOBO - North Bound
Thru Hiker - Someone attempting to walk the entire PCT in one season, usually done NOBO
Section Hiker - Someone walking a short section of the trail (1-500 continuous miles)
Flip Flop - A thru hike that is not continuous from border to border, the entire trail in one season but not necessarily in order and not all in one go.
Trail Angel - Awesome people helping hikers on the trail in any way
Trail Magic - Magical water caches, grapes in a cooler under a bridge in the desert, rides, free showers, pizza in a rain storm, free pie, breakfast burritos, if it's magical it's trail magic
Base Weight - Your pack weight without water or food
Dry Camping - Camping without a water source
Zero Day - A day where you hike zero trail miles, a rest day, usually in town.
Nero Day - A near zero day, very low mileage.
Posthole - When your foot sinks into deep snow, like a post, sometimes hilarious, potentially very frustrating.
I'll add more vocab if I can think of anymore....
