Camped at 903.9, 8560 feet
20.1 miles!
Got up early and got over Silver pass before 7 AM. There were several patches of snow that were crusty, icy and not fun but easily avoidable.
Lots of mosquitoes all morning it was pretty miserable you couldn't stop to get water or pee or even rest. Annoying little bugs. Not so bad when you're in Camp and can cover up.But when you're walking you just have to walk faster than the mosquitoes. After a big morning uphill the afternoon was easy grade, flat and slightly down hill. We made great time and hit 20 miles at about 5:30 PM. We have 2 miles into Red's Meadow tomorrow where we are stopping for milk shakes. So excited!
There is a deer about 15 feet away from us grazing while we play cribbage by the fire. We are below 10,000 feet and allowed to have a fire again! Definitely have hiker hunger, I can't stop eating my salty snacks. I'm craving a big chocolate milkshake and flavor blasted goldfish. Calories and salt. Can't get enough.
