13ish miles to Kennedy Meadows, Mile 702
Waited for things to dry this morning before heading out so we had a semi late start. We walked through a beautiful meadow and nice smelling trees.
| "oh rain gear tree, oh rain gear tree...." |
It was quite warm so when we got the the south fork of the Kern river we hung out, soaked in the cold water and ate some lunch.
Kennedy Meadows was very overwhelming. Everyone was very stuck in their groups and weren't particularly welcoming to outsiders sadly. The place was not well run, over worked, under staffed, under stocked, kinda dirty and noisy. Wasn't a fan.
We did make dinner and try to hangout with some other hikers, ended up listening to a few people play 19's mini guitar.
We met: Batman, 19, swigsky, tallboy, pretty boy, Dr fresh and many many others.
