Day 40

15 miles, camped at 674

It was nice and overcast for lots of climbing and descending that would have but rough in the sun.

We saw a snake in the path, not a rattlesnake  but we still gave it a wide berth. Later on we saw a rattlesnake by the water source! Medium sized and very calm, just doing his snake thing, going about his snakey business. Very pretty snake.

We had service from camp and I checked the weather, 30% chance of thunder storms and rain tonight and 80% tomorrow, looks like this is going to get interesting. I put up my tarp nice and low in wind and rain mode. It's a beautiful camp site but it's on a ridge and pretty windy.

My feet are happy, my legs are a bit sore but all in all doing well, taking it easy and slow. Following the most often given advice: Don't push it you will naturally gain milage as you get used to it.

We passed the 1/4 mark today!
