I saw two snakes today. They are really out and about now. They were both racers, no rattlesnakes.

At the end of the day we were just a few miles from camp and it started raining and hailing grape sized, very painful hail stones. It smelled like wet sage, wet hay and rain. A really great smelling combo.
Had to set up the tarp in rain and dig a trough around it with my ice ax, I guess if I never end up using it in the Sierra at least I did use it once for something. After the rain stopped I made a fire and Emily, 'Fire Water' and I dried everything out.
Today was definitely an adventure.
