Saw a couple elk on the first big up. Well heard them, and then saw them. They make funny noises.
Then I saw a bear! It was maybe 300 yards down hill gallivanting across a meadow. Beautiful bear!
Lots of day hikers around the highway that runs through Rainier national park. I must have looked hungry becuase people kept giving me food. I got a handful of goldfish, 5 pieces of dried mango and two mint candies. I love food. Especially food I didn't have to carry.
Had lunch on a foot bridge over the highway because it was a nice place to sit. But it was very cold. Met Chapstick and Big Bear. Nice guys.
Cold, windy and intermittent rain all day. No sun. I miss the sun. Plus with so many low clouds you can't see much. Walked the whole length of Mount Rainier National Park and didn't see Rainier! Hopefully it warms up a little in the next two weeks.
